Soul mate?

Do you believe in the soul mate principle? That for every person, God created the match? I'm not entirely sure that I believe in that. I don't think that any couple is exactly perfect for each other. I think that what makes a couple happy is when they find that perfectness about the other. That perfectness that you find is what makes the two soul mates. I think that soul mates are able to see the amazingness in the other even when they're fighting. Some people say that soul mates never fight. Well, I call BS on that one. Everyone gets mad or annoyed at something that their girlfriend or boyfriend says or does. You can't just run off and leave someone because they make you mad one time. I do think that God had certain people in mind when he created certain people. I like to think that He had a girl like me in mind when He created Ryan, and then two years, four months, and six days later, He had Ryan in mind when He created me.

So this one is about:
Broderick Ryan Gillilan

This boy is easily the most amazing guy in the world. He's 19, born in July, graduated from Holly Pond... blah blah blah. This blog isn't about him. It's about US. There is no me and him, but a we and us. We're a whole. We're not a normal couple... We're so far from normal. We constantly fight about stupid stuff and in our minds we think of ways to kill each other. Honestly, we hate each other. But I couldn't imagine going just one day without talking to him.

He's so much fun. I've never laughed as much as he makes me laugh. I'm so happy all the time. Even when we yell and cuss and feel like we want to kill the other, I'm happy. We were at Heritage Park when these pictures were taken. We're such crazy kids. :) Look at how weird we are. Everything about us screams wrong, but it's way too great to throw away.

My Sweet 16! This was probably the most amazing birthday ever. Kinda graphic picture... Totally PG-13. Sorry. But that was a great night. Not only was he there, but all of my best friends were there. I think my mom let him stay until 11 that night. I was so excited!! Brandi was on the other end of the couch with a box of pizza. Lol. I love this boy. The best part about that birthday was the fact that Ryan was there. It was a lame surprise party that I knew about, it was joined with my brothers party, my cousin Drew embarrassed me horribly, but he was there and he at least acted like he had the time of his life. I guess that could be what makes him so great. He always wants me to be happy. Maybe that's why I always am.... Who knows?

This is our most recent picture. It was taken Sunday, November 27. He was helping me put ornaments on my little Christmas tree. That might not sound like a big deal, but it was to me. You see, there was a show on that he really wanted to watch, but he stayed with me instead. He was there until 8:30 (it was a school night) helping me with the tree. We considered it as practice for the future. :) I love this kid. Lots and lots and lots. More than anything in the world. <3

*I know this one is lovey and stuff, but is it fair to write blogs about my best friends but not my boyfriend? I talk to him more, and I sure as heck don't kiss Aljon and Ben and Celine... Weird.

**And... I love you, Ryan. <3

School... Why go?

So this one's about school. How many of you guys go to a school like mine? If you do, do you like going to a school where you get called stupid? Do you like to be called a moron all the time? I don't. We go to school to increase our knowledge, not to have it questioned, right? Or do we only go because it's the law? Are teachers only there for the paycheck? Do they care if we pass or fail? Should the county fire the whole staff and just start over? Don't get me wrong, I love some of my teachers, but some of them aren't fit to be teachers.

I don't care what teacher reads this or what they think about it. I'm pretty sure that if any do, they'll know who I'm talking about.

It's kind of ridiculous to call the student's dumb because they haven't sat around reading about what the teachers think they should. We've been too busy reading books about vampires, and werewolves, and faeries to even think about reading about the guy who perfected the assembly line. And we don't have time to read the chapter if you only give us two days to finish all the work assigned. There just isn't enough time. And it's not interesting. I want to be interested in what I read. I also don't want to get yelled at for getting a question wrong. At least I attempted to find the answer and thought that maybe it was right. Yelling at students for a wrong answer is what pushes kids to drop out. Do you ever think that if the teachers were nicer and care more that more kids would graduate? I think so.

Another thing is when teachers yell for asking questions. It's kind of confusing when you ask if anyone has a question and then yell because of the question asked. Yeah, if it was a stupid question like, "When will penguins take over the world," I would understand. But if you're asked if something will be on the quiz... That's not exactly a bad question. The sad part is that it was answered in a nice voice. It was a minute later that you got mad over it and told everyone to stop asking what will be on the test. You want us to be prepared but you won't even tell us what to study? That's why no one has a really good grade. And you teach so fast that most of us have to teach  ourselves. To be fair, this teacher will help if someone goes to them with a question, but sometimes that's not all we need. Something else that bothered me today was when the teacher said that I could go seventh period to take a test that I can't take and they weren't even there. I won't be at school tomorrow, they won't be there Monday, and the last day before Thanksgiving break is Tuesday and we're watching a movie. We only have a week to make up tests, so what am I supposed to do? If I don't make it up, I'll get a zero. I can't afford to let my grade drop that far.

Teachers like this shouldn't be teachers. Teachers should want their students to learn and they should try to teach in a way that makes the students feel like they should keep coming back. High school is supposed to be the best four years of our lives. How can it be the best years if all it does is make you mad and stressed to the point that you don't even know why you go? The kids who quit at 16 and get their GED's are the real smart ones. They might not be as educated, but at least they don't have to deal with the crap you get from the people who claim to care about your education. I think school would work better if the teachers were payed based on the grades their kids make. Maybe then we'd have a higher average GPA and we wouldn't have the state coming to watch the teachers to make sure they're doing their jobs. I'm tired of the bad grades I make because the teachers can't teach. Well, actually they can, they just choose not to.

Unsheltered International

Sorry this is so late. I've been so busy with school that I haven't had time to post about this. Plus, I forgot until I read Aljon's blog and saw that he was going to put a face on my facebook wall unless I posted this blog.
On September 17, 2011, I went to Birmingham with the church that Xandralyn and Aljon go to. We were under this bridge that made a gun-shot noise everytime a car drove over us. We were feeding the homeless and less fortunate. We gave them hamburgers or hot dogs, chips, baked beans, snack cakes, and water or tea.

We also had tables set up with people working there making birth certificates and resumes for those who needed them. And we were giving away reading glasses.

We fed more than 180 people that day. One of the men we fed came up to me and said, "Thank you for doing this. I really appreciate it. I was hungry." It was really sad.
This is me and Aljon on the way down there. We listened to my iPod the whole way. :)

This is me and Maverick, and me and Aljon. Workin' hard, or hardly workin'? haha :)
This is Bama. He was one of the guys we fed. He was really cool. He told me and Aljon about how he jumps and trains and rides them all over and then comes back. He told us that he tried to break up a fight the day we were there. One of the guys who was fighting took out a machete and stabbed him in the leg with it. Bama came walking back up a few hours later and he told me and Aljon that he left with nothing and came back with nineteen stables in his leg and ten dollars from the nurse in his pocket. Then he told us about how someone on the street stole his guitar, and he sang us the song he had been working on. Bama was really nice and super cool.
This is Savannah, Xandralyn, and Maverick. They were being lazy in the food trailer.

In this picture, it's about six o'clock and we were packing up to leave. We had been there since about ten in the morning, and I didn't get home until almost eight. I actually had a lot of fun, and I'm going to do it again on October 15th. Which happens to be this coming Saturday. :) I'm excited!

Well... I have nothing else to say about my friend named Ben... So, I'm giving up on this one. I'm going to finish my movie and hope Ben stops telling me to write a blog about him. :D

Celine Hansen: Norwegian.

This is Celine. She's my Norwegian/best friend/sister and I miss her! I found this... list. She gave it to me the day she left and I just found it again. Its full of things she remembers about being here and advice for other people if they want me to like them. Well... I've made a list of my own. Just... Funny things that I remember... it's pretty hillarious. :D
Hmmm... What should I start with? Okay, Celine? Don't hate me if I reveal something embarrassing. Okay?

1. When we were folding Tom's laundry and there were nasty stains in his undies, and i put those undies on your head! You laughed until you threw up in my sink!
2. When we would sing "Forget You" by Cee Lo Green in my car.
3. When we sang any song in my car. We screamed so loud and made hillarious sounds. :D
4. Your first weekend here... ;)
5. When i was dropping you off at school that day and I started to drive off before you got your books.
6. When I left you at Aljon and Xandras house.
7. Your face when we were going to the beach and Brittney told us that Destiny totally peed in our seat.
8. The day we skipped our first period class and went to Sara's house.
9. Taco Bell almost everyday!
10. When you asked for an egg biscuit at the V&W and they gave you ham.
11. When I told you that something happened and you jumped up and down and hugged me! :)
12. When you cried in my car and I told you to get out and walk home because I had no clue what to say.
13. Your big fat bruised ankle after the Cinco De Mayo games.
14. Going to walmart and buying tons of movies.
15. When we went to the beach with Mawmaw and we were watching Teen wolf and she got really mad.
16. Chicken Fried Chicken!!
17. When me and Ryan left you in the cds at walmart with Dylan Hyde and you got scared and left.
18. When we kept asking Ryan to make shadow puppets. It was like we were drugged or something...
19. When we went to Ryans grandparents house and there were turkeys and junk.
20. When a certain Asian sent you weird and provocative IMs.... haha

Okay. I'm stopping at 20. The list Celine left for me was so so long. Now for the advice...

1. She's not stupid, she's foreign. Don't judge her or be mean.
2. Don't say mean things to her. She cries on command.
2. Don't let her lead when you're going on an epic journey through a cornfeild to get muffins. The rednecks are your only chance at surviving. :)
3. Don't hit her. She'll get a huge bruise.
4. Don't yell at her. She'll go to her room and cry and make you feel horrible about yourself.
5. Don't tell her a joke. It gets less funny when you have to explain everything in detail.

I have a ton more, but Dillon is talking about something and I'm distracted and can't think. I may post more later.

Ceine: I love you. I miss you so so so so so much! Dillon gets on my nerves a lot. He wakes me up in the middle of the night to tell me about a stupid car that he knows I don't care about. I need my little foreigner back!!! ;(
I miss you, Celine. I can't wait to see you again. It's gonna be so much fun when you come back. Or when I go there. Either one. I'm saving for money to go to Norway! :D
I love you, girl!
You're my best friend.
And you're my sister.
Love, Kris. :)

Aljon Celis: Asian

Aljon.
Ajon...Aljon... Aljon...

That is me and Aljon. We were going to see Harry Potter with Ben. This blog is specifically to thank him for creating it. I would've had no idea what I was doing. I still have no idea what I'm doing, lol. Aljon is originally from the Philippines, but he moved to Minnesota when he was a kid. Then He came to Vinemont when he was in sixth grade. We became friends the next year. Aljon and I were in Scholars Bowl together (I HATED it). I used to take pictures with my cousin, Levi, on his phone. He's a senior this year. He's an amazing writer, and he has great taste in books and music. He's the person I text when I'm mad at a book and something needs to be said about it. Ask him for a book recommendation! He makes me the best mixed cds ever. I play them in my car until they're scratched beyond listening-to experience (I know that doesn't make sense. I got confused and said that about Ben's cd today). So, anyway... Thank you to my Asian friend for my awesome blog. I love it. :D
